The Halestorm Experience
If you read my MUSIC POST - IN HERE, you know music is one of my main passions. Also when I created this blog I intended to turn it into a whole personal experience, not just conventions, but also concerts and other experiences. On Saturday the 2nd of December I had the opportunity to attend the most perfect gig of Halestorm in my hometown - Lisbon Portugal. It has been 10 years since they performed a show here, so after my trip to Barcelona to see them live last year with Alter Bridge, I couldn’t waste another opportunity, since they’re one of my favorite bands of all time. And after this experience, I think I will always attend their shows forever!
It was thanks to Supernatural that I met this amazing band. On Season 13 Episode 10 “Wayward Sisters,” they started the episode with the song “I Am The Fire” I immediately reached my iPhone and I opened the app Shazam and…well I was hooked the next day. I started to listen to every song on Spotify and I became addicted until this day. I can’t have one day without listening to at least one song of them. “Vicious” is my number one album.
This time I did something different rather than just attend a concert, I purchased a VIP experience to have an M&G with the band (I never did that with a band, just at conventions) so I had no idea how it was gonna proceed.
My friends Emi and Ines came with me to the experience, so at least we knew that meant we were definitely having the first row. We had to be there a little before 5:30 pm, they scanned our tickets before the hour, and they were punctual once the doors were open my anxiety rose (a good one of course) I just couldn’t believe I was gonna meet one of my favorite bands.
Inside I counted there were at least 20 people to do their M&G. We queued by order, and my friend Ines was really nervous since she was a fan for years! I came after her…and Joe was the first to hug me (guitarist), I introduced myself and I hugged Josh next (bassist) Lzzy introduced herself and I thought (dude I know who you are! You’re my queen!!) She gave great hugs and then Arejay her brother and drummer finished signing my paper for my notebook (a project that I just started that has my friend’s signatures plus musicians that I will meet and actors that marked my life basically and inspired me.) He hugged me next and he is so chaotic and sweet I love his energy! I told them I was happy to see them back in Portugal and that I was in Barcelona last year; followed by the fact I was heading to the US on Tuesday and that I loved their country (since they said mine was beautiful) and I told the story how I discovered them. We talked a lot and could after, Lzzy hugged me 3 times and I thanked her for her music and everything I almost cried on her I was getting too emotional. The photographer took our pic after and Josh squeezed on me and we all started to laugh because he made a joke. I love them forever.
