Rewatching #LuciferNetflix

Since my other devil Tom Ellis was announced to CR9 I bought my Gold tickets immediately and…decided it was time to rewatch this show for third time.

Have you ever revisited a beloved TV series and found it even more captivating than the first time around? That's precisely the experience I'm having as I dive back into the world of "Lucifer." It's like catching up with an old friend – familiar yet refreshingly new. Upon rewatching, I'm struck by the show's clever blend of genres. It seamlessly weaves together elements of crime procedural, supernatural thriller, and witty comedy. Each episode is a rollercoaster ride of mystery, intrigue, and devilish humor.

One aspect that stands out on this revisit is the character development. From the charmingly enigmatic Lucifer Morningstar to the complex relationships he shares with Detective Chloe Decker and the rest of the cast, every character feels more layered and nuanced with each viewing. It's fascinating to pick up on subtle nuances and foreshadowing that might have been missed the first time around. Also, I forgot about other things, that’s why I always love to rewatch some shows/movies. And obviously…the views are interesting.

Moreover, "Lucifer" delves into thought-provoking themes, such as redemption, identity, and the nature of good and evil. These deeper layers enrich the storyline, prompting me to ponder philosophical questions long after the credits roll. The fact that the very angels learned they could actualize, means change is beyond just for humans, but for every being in the universe. And our demon Maze gains a soul herself. All of its characters go through an arc of redemption, that goes to several steps - we can agree that Linda being the therapist and friend of all has a huge part on it, but's also fascinating to delve into the psychological underpinnings of each character's journey towards redemption. Linda, as the therapist and confidante to our celestial and infernal protagonists, undoubtedly plays a pivotal role in guiding them through their inner turmoil. Her empathetic nature and unwavering support provide a safe space for them to confront their deepest fears and insecurities.

Take Lucifer, for instance. His journey from hedonistic indulgence to self-awareness is a testament to the complexities of identity and self-discovery. Beneath his charming facade lies a profound sense of existential angst, stemming from his tumultuous relationship with his father and the burden of his devilish nature. Through his sessions with Linda, Lucifer grapples with issues of guilt, self-worth, and the desire for genuine connection.

Similarly, Chloe Decker's journey is marked by a quest for purpose and acceptance. As a mortal navigating the celestial realm, she struggles to reconcile her rational worldview with the supernatural forces at play. Linda's guidance helps Chloe confront her insecurities and embrace her role as a beacon of justice and compassion in a world plagued by darkness.

And then there's Maze, the demon with a heart yearning for something more. Her evolution from ruthless enforcer to a being capable of love and empathy is a testament to the transformative power of human connection. Through her bond with Linda and the rest of the ensemble cast, Maze learns to embrace her humanity and forge her own path towards redemption.

Each character's arc is a reflection of universal themes of growth, forgiveness, and the search for meaning. By exploring the psychological complexities of their journeys, "Lucifer" offers viewers a deeper understanding of the human condition and the universal desire for redemption. In the end, it's not just about the battles between angels and demons; it's about the battles within ourselves and the journey towards self-actualization and inner peace.

Of course, I can't talk about "Lucifer" without mentioning its stellar cast and witty dialogue. Tom Ellis's portrayal of the titular character is nothing short of mesmerizing, infusing Lucifer with charisma and vulnerability in equal measure. The chemistry between the cast members crackles on screen, making each interaction a delight to watch. From the first second, he was on the screen, I got stuck by his portrayal.

As I continue my journey through the series, I'm reminded of why I fell in love with "Lucifer" in the first place. It's more than just a show; it's a captivating exploration of the human condition, wrapped in a devilishly entertaining package. So, if you haven't already, I highly recommend giving "Lucifer" a watch – or a rewatch, as the case may be. Trust me; you won't regret it. I’m about to restart the last season, and I barely remember anything. I do remember how much I cried on the last episode tho!

I will write a post about my picks on each season - Favorite, Least, Funniest, Saddest, and Best episode. Stay tuned!
